Ready Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ready Software Inc. (in Canada) and Ready Software USA Inc. (in the United States) — together “Ready,” “we,” “our,” or “us” — collect, use, share, and protect personal information in connection with our website (get.readytopay.com), our guest ordering and payment platform, and related applications and services (collectively, the “Service”), as described in our Terms of Use.

This Policy applies to three groups of people: visitors to our website, the restaurants, venues, and other businesses that use Ready to run their front of house (“Establishments”) and the staff who access the Service on an Establishment’s behalf, and the guests of an Establishment who place orders or make payments through the Service (“Patrons”). Where our practices differ between these groups, we say so below.

Information We Collect

Information you give us

Account and contact information. When you sign up for Ready, request a demo, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, work email address, phone number, and the name and address of your restaurant or venue. If you sign up for our free “On the House” plan or a paid plan, we also collect the venue details needed to set up your account and menu.

Enquiries and support requests. If you use our contact form or email us for support, we collect whatever you include — typically your name, email, phone number, company name, and the content of your message — so we can respond and keep a record of the conversation.

Transaction data. When a Patron places an order or makes a payment through the Service, we (and, where applicable, the payment processor selected by the Establishment) process information related to that transaction, such as items ordered, order totals, tax and tip amounts, and payment status. Card numbers and other sensitive payment details are handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor, not stored on our own servers.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website or use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical information, including IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and timestamps. We use this information to operate the website reliably, understand how it is used, and improve it over time.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, grouped into three categories that you can control through the cookie banner on our site:

Strictly necessary — required for the website to function (for example, remembering your cookie preferences). These are always on and cannot be switched off.

Analytics — help us understand how the site is used, so we can improve it. We use Vercel Analytics, which is designed to measure traffic and page interactions without using cookies to track individual visitors, and, only if you allow analytics cookies, HubSpot's page-tracking script.

Marketing — used to personalize content and, where enabled, to support HubSpot's marketing and forms tools.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the “Manage cookies” control in the banner shown on your first visit, or by clearing your browser's local storage for this site to see the banner again.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to: provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including guest ordering, menu management, and payment processing; create and support Establishment and Patron accounts; respond to enquiries and provide customer support; send transactional communications, such as order confirmations, account verification emails, and service notices; detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents; understand how our website and Service are used so we can improve them; and comply with our legal obligations, including tax, accounting, and record-keeping requirements.

We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not use Patron order or payment data for advertising.

How We Share Information

We share personal information only as needed to run the Service, and with the following categories of recipients:

The Establishment you are ordering from or paying. Where you interact with the Service as a Patron, the relevant order, contact, and payment-status details are shared with the Establishment so it can fulfill your order — the same way they would be if you ordered in person.

Payment processors. Payment details are processed by the payment processor selected by the Establishment (which may include Stripe, Inc.) under that processor's own privacy and security practices. Ready does not store full card numbers.

Service providers who help us run the Service and our business, including cloud hosting and infrastructure, transactional email delivery, authentication for Establishment dashboard logins, spam and abuse prevention (Google reCAPTCHA), and the analytics tools described above (Vercel Analytics and, where enabled, HubSpot). These providers are only permitted to use personal information to perform services for us.

Point-of-sale and other integration partners, but only where an Establishment has connected its own POS or other systems to Ready, and only to the extent needed to keep orders, menus, and payments in sync.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ready, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If Ready is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the protections described in this Policy.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Transaction records are generally retained for the period required by applicable financial recordkeeping laws. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete or anonymize it.

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, including encryption in transit and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep these protections current.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. This includes rights available to Canadian residents under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws, and to residents of US states with consumer privacy laws (such as California's CCPA/CPRA).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are a Patron, the fastest path for order- or account-specific requests is often through the Establishment you ordered from, since they hold the primary relationship with you; we're glad to help either way.

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages, and manage analytics and marketing cookies through the cookie banner described above. Opting out does not affect transactional messages needed to service your account or orders.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not designed for, and is not directed at, children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Service. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International Data Transfers

Ready operates in both Canada and the United States, and personal information may be stored and processed in either country, as well as by service providers located elsewhere. Where information is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it continues to be protected in a manner consistent with this Policy.

Third-Party Links

Our website and the Service may link to third-party websites or services we do not control, such as a payment processor's checkout page. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices separately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal or operational reasons. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do, and where changes are material, we will provide additional notice, such as a notice on our website or an email to registered Establishments.
